Why we keep the range small

Fern & Flint makes a short list of household products on purpose. A small range means every material can be checked against the same standard. When we find a supplier who grows or harvests solid bamboo, cork, natural cotton or borosilicate glass, we test samples in real kitchen conditions before placing a larger order.

How orders are checked

Before any order is packed, a member of our team inspects each piece by hand. We look for rough edges, weak joints, cracks and print that might come off in the wash. Items that pass are wrapped in recycled paper and packed in cardboard with no plastic tape.

• Visual check: every surface and edge is examined before packing.
• Handle check: lids, clips and fasteners are opened and closed to ensure they work.
• Packaging check: boxes are reinforced with paper padding so glass and bamboo arrive unharmed.

Why this matters for daily use

A well checked product lasts longer, so you replace it less often. That is the real point of a zero-waste home: fewer purchase cycles, less packaging thrown away and more practical items doing their job every day.
